Journal of Dermatological Case Reports

Journal of Dermatological Case Reports is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that publishes original case studies covering the entire spectrum of dermatology, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, toxicity of therapy, supportive care, quality of life, and survival.

The journal of dermatological case reports will also accept case reports related to the use of innovative technologies in both diagnosis and treatment. Supplementary material is welcome and free of charge. In these forums, clinicians and researchers communicate their observations to the widest possible audience in society.

WHAT IS A DERMATOLOGIST?

Skin is an incredible organ. It's your first line of defense against disease, protects your other organs, keeps you warm and cool, and sends the message of how healthy you are. Dermatologists are specialist medical doctors and skin surgeons who have unique skills and experience to provide the best care for the organ you are treating.

In addition to diagnosing and treating more than 3,000 diseases of the skin, hair and nails, dermatologists age 12 or older attend school to learn about cosmetic concerns. Patients go to journal of dermatological case reports for problems that go deeper than the skin. Problems with their skin can reduce patients' sense of self-worth, cause discomfort that can make daily activities difficult, and in some cases can be life-threatening.

If you were to watch a dermatologist at work on any given day, you might see them:

  • Treat the child's major birthmark that threatens the child's vision

  • Remove a mother's malignant melanoma at its earliest, treatable stage

  • Relieve the student whose severe eczema makes sleep nearly impossible

  • Diagnose grandpa with a life-threatening liver condition that causes unbearable itching

  • Cure young woman's hair loss, help her gain confidence to complete her job search

What training does a dermatologist have?

Nobody has finished more preparation than dermatologists to address worries with your skin, hair, and nails. Before they can start rehearsing, dermatologists get over 10 years of preparation, including:

  • Four years of school to procure a four year college education

  • Four years of clinical school to turn into a clinical specialist

  • An extended temporary job

  • Three years of residency, working close by experienced specialists and finishing 12,000 to 16,000 hours of treating patients.

What is a board-certified dermatologist?

After effectively finishing residency preparing in dermatology, a dermatologist can become board-confirmed, finishing a difficult test that depends on the information and abilities acquired during their long stretches of preparation.

Board certificate by the American Board of Dermatology, the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology, or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada lets you know that you are getting care from somebody who has the most thorough preparation around here. It is vital that the board accreditation is from one of these associations. There are many sorts of sheets and different confirmations don't mirror a similar degree of preparing and skill.
